FanDuel has entered the prediction-market space with FanDuel Predicts, a standalone app that allows users to trade event contracts on college football outcomes — including the Heisman Trophy race.
New users who apply the FanDuel Predicts promo code during sign-up unlock a mystery bonus upon completing their first trade on any event contract listed in the app. The offer is available in Alabama, Alaska, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, and Utah.
The Heisman market is drawing early attention. CJ Carr of Notre Dame, Arch Manning of Texas, Darian Mensah of Miami, and Trinidad Chambliss of Ole Miss are listed among the top contenders for the award, according to FanDuel Predicts.
The platform also covers a broad slate of college football markets, including conference winners, win totals, and national championship predictions — giving traders multiple angles to put capital to work before the season kicks off.
The Heisman race has not always rewarded the early favorite. Arch Manning entered last season as a widely cited trendy favorite, according to the source, but never separated himself from the field. Fernando Mendoza of Indiana ultimately claimed the award and, per the source, got drafted No. 1 overall.
FanDuel Predicts is operated by FanDuel Prediction Market LLC, a registered futures commission merchant. The platform notes that trading derivatives involves significant risk and may not be suitable for all investors.
CEO Times take: Prediction markets are a textbook example of price discovery through voluntary exchange — no central authority picking winners, just aggregated information from participants willing to put real money behind their convictions. FanDuel's move into this space reflects where capital and consumer demand are pointing: away from legacy sportsbook monopolies and toward open, competitive market structures. The Heisman race, with its built-in uncertainty and a recent precedent of a long-shot winner, is precisely the kind of event where distributed market intelligence tends to outperform expert consensus. Traders who respect that lesson — and manage their risk accordingly — are the ones the market rewards.
